About

From childhood, Sjoerd Schunselaar (1990) has been fascinated by audio-visual and electronic technology, the power of nature and the human body. It started with taking apart a game boy and resulted many years later in three-dimentional objects made of raw materials such as wood and natural rubber. By combining these materials with physical aspects like body temperature, hearing and impulses, with his work he tries to bridge the gab between man and technology.

“In my work i make invisible elements of nature visible by using technology. With machines and instruments i translate research results into a visual work with a minimalistic and mysterious look. In this way, i present a new view of what formerly seemed invisible. From the dust in our pockets to the heat of our hands.”
